Books, books, (dogs!) & books!

I'm a children's book author from Virginia. I never outgrew my love of children's books, so I'm lucky that now I get to share the joys of books and writing with children from Mobile to Maine, from Columbia to California. You might have seen my books in the occasional Scholastic Club flier or Scholastic Book Fair. I'm published by Dutton (Penguin/Random House), Sterling, and Scholastic/Orchard, with books also forthcoming from Candlewick and Farrar, Straus and Giroux (MacMillan.)
